A recent project in central London offered a clear demonstration of this commitment. The delivery and handling of an Atlantis Evo Rack Washer presented a series of unique logistical challenges that required detailed planning, precise coordination, and an experienced team capable of working seamlessly within a demanding construction environment.
The project was far from a standard delivery. Located in central London, the site posed a range of restrictions typical of busy urban environments: limited access, high pedestrian and vehicle activity, and confined working areas. These constraints required an innovative and highly coordinated approach to ensure that safety, timing, and quality were maintained throughout the process.
Managing a Complex Urban Delivery 
From the outset, the Tecniplast Project Management team worked closely with the site’s main contractor, and our clients’ representatives to design a comprehensive delivery plan. The strategy included a detailed risk assessment, phased lifting schedules, and contingency procedures to ensure the project could proceed smoothly under any circumstances.
On delivery day, the operation began at street level, where four large crates containing the Atlantis Evo Rack Washer components were safely de-crated on a busy road. Each piece was then individually hoisted using a small external hook system to a gantry level approximately four metres above ground. This required precise communication between the ground team and those on the gantry to maintain both safety and efficiency.
Elevating Expertise
Once on the gantry, each component was carefully placed into a compact external hoist and lifted six floors to roof level. Coordinating lifting operations at this height demanded strict adherence to safety protocols, continuous monitoring, and expert handling by Tecniplast’s delivery specialists.
Upon reaching the rooftop, the challenge shifted from vertical to horizontal movement. Each component had to be transported across the roof, navigating a series of ramps and uneven surfaces before reaching a designated roof opening on the opposite side of the building. This phase demonstrated the value of detailed pre-planning: every movement was mapped out in advance to minimise risk and ensure smooth execution.
The final stage of the process involved lowering each component through the roof opening down to the fourth floor, where they were positioned in a secure storage area awaiting installation. This delicate operation, conducted in partnership with the main contractor, required millimetre-level precision and full synchronisation between teams positioned above and below the roof structure.
Professionalism from Start to Finish
Despite the complexity of the task, multiple lift points, limited space, variable heights, and the inherent challenges of an active construction site, the Tecniplast team completed the delivery safely, on schedule, and without incident. Upon completion, all waste materials were cleared from site, leaving the area clean and ready for the next phase of works. As one project member remarked, “It was all done, rubbish gone, as if we were never there.”
