Tecniplast has among its priority objectives, to the same extend as profitability, the quality of the product and service, the safeguarding of the environment and the compatibility of its business with the territory it operates in.

This is why the Company Management has implemented an integrated Management System for quality and environment in compliance with the requirements of UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 and UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 standards, with the Eco Design Process according to ISO 14006:2020.

While the majority of companies have not been quick off the mark in adopting a Green Strategy, Tecniplast proves to be the best in class according to the 2021 Environmental policy results, implementing strong accountability systems, clear policies on environmental management.

This was confirmed by the Award Tecniplast received in 2021, having been recognized as the best company in the lab animal industry for its environmental and social sustainability and sensibility. 

These are the components of Tecniplast’s success, demonstrating a strategic vision, with a 360° commitment to providing environmentally friendly options in the product and service portfolio we provide to our customers.

2021 GREEN ARCHITECTURE: A CLEAR ARCHITECTURE

The 2021 Tecniplast Green Architecture was based on the following points:

• Contributing to climate change mitigation as well adoption of sustainable energies
• Fostering sustainable development and efficient management of natural resources
• Contributing to the development of new technologies to reduce the impact of TP products

GREEN OBJECTIVES: SIMPLE, MEASURABLE, WELL DEFINED

Tecniplast identified the following 2021 Objectives:

• Beating plastic waste
• Minimizing impact on climate change
• Ensuring an effective management of waste

GREEN TOOLS

Tecniplast has improved consistently performances from 2020 to 2021, with impressive results on CO2 footprint, greenhouse gas emissions, use of renewable energy and, through a close partnership with suppliers, driving sustainability into products and services. Tecniplast identified a strategic alliance in reaching its objectives: TP Employees. Tecniplast gave employees support, flexibility, tools and responsibility to design an effective 2021 Environment policy.

RESULTS

2021 results: 

Some positive results of our Environmental Attention and Attitude (data from the “2021 Management Review Report”):

• - 12,5% consumption of water per person per day (from 96 LT in 2020 to 84 LT in 2021)
• - 7% consumption of methane
• Electricity no variation but with increased volume produced
• Continue analysis of the CO2 Footprint on new products and on existing products with the objective of offering continuous reduction of CO2 footprint of our products

TECNIPLAST ENVIRONMENT OBJECTIVES FOR 2022

Tecniplast considers the environmental management system based on the use of ISO14001 as one of the most important topics for 2022 too.

We have identified the following targets:

• Minimize waste
• Minimize the use of energies and water
• Minimize releases of air contaminants into the environment.
• Comply with all applicable environmental laws.
• Safeguard the environment for future generations.
• Be a responsible neighbour

2022 Environmental Policy Related objectives:

• % Undifferentiated waste: keep the result achieved
• Continue to calculate the Product lifecycle assessment analysis for new products
• Continue to increase efficiency in production (reduction of consumption, reduction of waste, scraps, maximization of recycling materials)
• Continue to maximize plastic processing efficiency
• Continue to reduce packaging consumption vs Finished products
• Continue with the installation of the analytical detection system of energy consumption.
