Tecniplast is pleased to present a World Wide IVC Symposium which highlights the importance of innovation and design in facility planning, equipment and operations

On June 18th to 21st 2014 Tecniplast will be hosting the first ever Global IVC Symposium at our headquarters in Varese, Italy, titled: “IVCs: Delivering the best Environment for Science, Safety and Animal welfare”.

This is an unique event, dedicated to the management of IVC systems and getting the best from them in terms of science, management and welfare outputs.

The speakers are all established experts in their fields and there will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and networking, as well as attending the platform presentations and workshops. The Symposium is targeted towards directors and senior managers.

Program Overview:

Until recently the design of cages for laboratory rodents and care procedures focused on providing a standardized environment for effective animal care and scientific research while meeting regulatory

requirements. Recently there have initiatives to try and meet the biological and behavioral needs of the animals by in-cage environmental enrichment and changes in cage design to provide a controlled microenvironment. However, changes in the way laboratory rodents are housed must deliver measurable improvements and be scientifically validated for the potential effects on the animals, human health and scientific data. This symposium looks at current developments IVC Cage design and management systems in major research centers and the impact on animal welfare, research results and facility operations.

Attending this symposium you will get new standards, strategies and solutions for more efficient facility operations discovering latest facility concepts, plans and initiatives for lowest capital and operating costs and an understanding of dynamic vivarium support effectiveness, efficiency and economy.

Learning objectives of the symposium:

  • Advances in the technology of animal models, research methodologies, and husbandry techniques.
  • Standardization and controlled variation of animal care in IVCs.
  • IVC cage Design and scientific data.
  • Current approaches to rodent ABSL containment.
  • Contemporary topics: integration, automation and sustainability.
  • Advances in the technology of animal models, research methodologies, and husbandry techniques

Ask your TP representative more general details about this IVC Symposium and about the booking form.
